The Gospel According to Annie

After 11 years of living a hard knock life in a care home under her mean foster mother Aretha Hannigan, Annie gets a chance in the lifetime to spend Christmas with wealthy politician Oliver Monét.

Though Annie longs for her long lost family she uses her faith in God to encourage her fellow care kids and even Oliver Monet that God has a purpose for their lives.

Through the song I Can Only Imagine, Annie imagines what her life will be like in the future when she lets Jesus take the wheel. Throughout the play the audience can see that even in the tough times he is with her, like he is with us even though it doesn’t feel like it.
